Character Information
General
Canon Source: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Canon Format: Yamamoto will be from the manga, not the anime version.
Character’s Name: Takeshi Yamamoto (westernized)
Also Known As: Vongola X Rain Guardian, Baseball Idiot
Character’s Age: Fourteen

Netvice: Think of a Nintendo 3DS. Shrink it a little. Now, combine it with a baseball. The end result is a spherical device that somehow flips open in equal halves to display two screens (the bottom being a touch screen) for browsing the network or toying with programs or apps. It comes with a stylus and has two holes between the hidden hinges where a strap or such could be looped through. A keyboard appears on the bottom half when typing is necessary, but there is also the option of using the stylus to draw or write. The top screen can play video and it has a built in front and back camera and microphone. The outside is white leather with red baseball stitching, and it looks like a regular baseball when it is shut. It will be quite tough, for whenever he inevitably throws it with his very strong pitching arm, and waterproof.

Abilities
Character’s Canon Abilities: The Japanese teen has exceptional physical strength, stamina, reaction time, and coordination. Yamamoto is more than just a sports freak; he’s an extreme sports freak. His body is stronger than even most above-average athletic people and his self-confidence shows that he knows it. He is able to react to movement, dangerous or otherwise, in a fraction of a second; the teen is decent at evading, but better at deflecting attacks with a weapon, such as a baseball bat or sword.

Speaking of which, he is frighteningly good at baseball, to the point that he may lose focus on all else at the mention of it or a related term and actually cause destruction by accident because he is "unable to control himself when it comes to baseball." He has broken walls (and people) on several occasions by throwing objects when prompted to pitch or to play catch.

Apart from baseball, Yamamoto also focuses on swordsmanship after asking his father, Tsuyoshi, to teach him a sword style. He is taught Shigure Souen, a style considered flawless and indestructible. It has both offensive and defensive forms, and is capable of being adapted to any given battle situation. Only those worthy of succeeding it are shown the styles, and they are expected to learn it after witnessing each form only a single time. Because he is adept at memorizing moves and skills by seeing them, Yamamoto is able to learn Shigure Souen style. After mastering the style, he has created his own additional forms to make it even stronger. He fights with a sword called Shigure Kintoki (see Weapons). For a list of Shigure Souen forms, see here.

As guardian of the rain in the Vongola mafia family, Yamamoto possesses the rain ring. With it, he can summon a rain-element swallow named Kojirou to aid in his fighting, he can create blue "flames" with a tranquilizing/paralyzing effect that can be used to calm or freeze up living things, and he can apply these flames to his sword to give the blade these elemental effects. Rain flames can also be used for a camouflage or to drown out other flames.
Eventually, he learns to create freak rainstorms and much more but he is only beginning to tap into his abilities when he is pulled from the Future Arc.

He is intelligent, but not booksmart. Reborn calls Yamamoto a natural hitman because he can sense murderous intent from another being and react swiftly and accordingly, sometimes before even spotting the danger. He is incredibly gifted at learning something by doing it, or even through observation. In fact, these skills of his are off the charts, and are another reason he is a strong addition to his mafia family. He is able to analyze situations and opponents and adapt himself in order to surpass just about anything he is faced with. Once his attention is caught by something, he is intensely focused, absorbing all available information. Other than these main skills, Yamamoto can make good sushi and juggle with multiple objects.

Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? N/A, his rain flames and canon skills are enough.

Weapons: Shigure Kintoki is a special sword given to him by his father that has been passed on by previous Shigure Souen users. It is normally in the shape of a bamboo training sword, a shinai, but when it is swung with Shigure Souen style it transforms into a katana.

He had this weapon with him at his previous RP. It was returned to him through his involvement with the defense force in Marina Asylum, as per special request. As such, it will already be on him and will not have to magically re-appear when he arrives on the island.

While in Marina Asylum, Yamamoto got himself a dog. ♥ Jirou is a silver brindle Akita. He eventually will have a red Akita in his box weapon, also named Jirou (go figure), but he is not updated to this canon point and he loves his prison dog very much! This dog is large for an Akita, and also very.... erm.. nuts. Jirou pounces and knocks down random people and, though not particularly harmful, he generally tends to be an energetic annoyance, hence filing him under "weapons." Jirou will be arriving with Yamamoto to the island.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: All hail the Reborn Wikia with Yamamoto’s history!

Point in Canon: Chapter 200. This is in the midst of the Future Arc, which follows the Varia Arc. He has discovered that he is the rain guardian in the Vongola famiglia and has been working on the Shigure Souen sword style. He was recently introduced to box weapons and learned new sword styles from watching video footage of Superbi Squalo’s fights. While invading the enemy base, Yamamoto was separated from his companions and was in the midst of a one-on-one battle with Genkishi when he was pulled from his series into Marina Asylum. Though he smarted his way through several of Genkishi’s illusions and was on his way to victory, he was taken out by charging headfirst into a wall. It’s after he was knocked out that he was sent to his first RP, and from there he will come to Siren's Port.
"This Gingerbread kid attacked us, and there was a giant snake eating a bear, haha, but that was after Tsuna tried to stop the robots, and then the walls were moving and it was like a big puzzle game but you and Senpai went up and I got left down with Lal Mirch and then Round Eyebrow assaulted me. He was pretty intense - he faked losing to Squalo, you know, and I almost didn’t win, but then just as I was about to I ran into a wall."—Yamamoto in Marina

Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: Takeshi will be arriving after his time in Marina Asylum. About a month was spent there (Marina RP time was set such that one week of real time equaled one day of in-game time). He arrived with a major headache after running into The Wall during his battle with Genkishi. He met a slew of new people and made a lot of friends (and also annoyed some people with his airhead attitude).
Some significant friendships that spawned out of his time in prison were with Yuuri Shibuya and Mihashi Ren, who played baseball with Yamamoto. They even had a baseball player sleepover. Yuuri started a baseball team in Marina which Yamamoto was thrilled to join. More good friends were Euphemia Li Britannia, who was always looking out for Yamamoto, and Road Kamelot, who was always eager to have fun with him after they first met.
He saw a few canonmates while in prison, staying closest with Tsuna and Gokudera, who became his roommate upon his own arrival. Through several others came and went, he didn't see as much of them. Through an incident where Gokudera was temporarily reverted into a child and Yamamoto tended to him, he took up calling the other guardian by his first name, Hayato (which angered Gokudera when he was back to normal and the first-name basis remained).
Probably the most significant incident while he was incarcerated was Ryohei's death. Although Yamamoto only caught the funeral, he was disturbed by the reality of the death of a close friend and member of his mafia family. This made him even more protective of his friends and prompted him to join the prison's defense force to aid people in danger. A few weird things happened while he was there, such as being forced to kiss a few people via mistletoe and being bashed in the head by a baseball-bat-happy Tallahassee who thought he was a zombie. He also adopted a brindle Akita from the pet café and named it Jirou.

Character Personality: When he is introduced, Yamamoto is a very normal kind of guy. He is fairly average in school, getting through with lucky guesses rather than actually caring about his studies. He is cheerful and highly laid back, a combination that, with his skill at baseball and his good looks, makes him very popular in school and a star baseball player on Namimori's team. It may actually be difficult to run into a nicer fellow and it is easy to see how making friends is easy for him. Yamamoto is rarely seen without a smile and is almost constantly laughing, light and jovially, most of the time at nothing in particular. Polite, considerate of other people's feelings, and generally appearing to live with a positive and warm attitude, he is very easy to like unless excessive happiness and a lot of laughter is a turn off. Even then, he does not let it bother him if people do not like him or if they think he is an idiot. What Yamamoto thinks of himself, however, is another matter entirely. He has a tendency to be hard on himself, setting very high standards for anything he dedicates himself to and, if he fails, it sends him into silent despair. He is even more worried if he thinks he is letting down people who are counting on him, such as baseball teammates or his mafia family. While his feelings weigh heavily on him, he is careful to keep them contained so that no one is caused to worry for him.

Yamamoto possesses a very pointed logic that tends to travel from point A to point B without any detours. This is revealed immediately after his introduction when he tries to commit suicide at school. Because he broke his arm and can't play baseball, the only thing he considers himself to be good at, Yamamoto thinks his life is over and that pitching himself from the roof is his best option. He would rather die than be unable to prove himself useful and he wasn't stopping to consider that he could find other things to be good at. Baseball was all he thought he had and, if he couldn't play it, then he had nothing. It is at this point that he is saved by Tsuna and develops what seems to be the first meaningful relationship the popular jock has ever had, also becoming the Rain Guardian in Tsuna's mafia family: the Vongola. Being a member of the Vongola has proven he does not show surprise to many situations, no matter how bizarre they might be, and his sense of humor can be equally cracked, as he will happily laugh while dodging very real bullets.

To the people with whom he forms a connection, Yamamoto shows powerful loyalty, this beginning with Tsuna and soon including their entire Famiglia. Though friendly to everyone, he does not devote himself to someone else lightly and, once he does, it is likely he would die if it would mean their safety. Yamamoto is greatly attached to his close friends. He is more than willing to put himself in harm's way or sacrifice what is important to himself (i.e. baseball) in order to protect them. The same can also be said for his enemies, to an extent, as he has put himself in danger to protect them before as well and purposely tries to avoid causing much damage. It is true that he is very competitive and that he both plays and fights to win, but he is also a good sport and he does not wish to really hurt someone unless they have injured somebody important to him. He can be extremely forgiving, even of someone who previously attacked or nearly killed him, but he does not, despite how he may revert to happy-go-lucky in their presence, forget the past.

Being a very athletically-oriented person gives Yamamoto exceptional physical strength, coordination, and reaction-time. Though he may come off as a naïve and oblivious idiot, Yamamoto comprehends dangerous situations with an assassin's instincts and is capable of responding both defensively and offensively accordingly. This is even noted by one of the series' top mafia members, Reborn, who comments several times that Yamamoto is a natural-born hitman. He is capable of maintaining his calm and overcoming challenges by adapting and growing stronger. As brushed over earlier, Yamamoto has high confidence in himself that, though rarely crushed, causes him to sink into a brief stint of despair if broken. Now that he has more purpose and a place with his mafia family, he will dedicate his entire being to getting stronger and overcoming any weaknesses he discovers; anything to protect the people he cares about.

This baseball-lover has a lot of real depth hiding beneath his bubbly, airheaded exterior which is rarely seen. His anger, expressed when his companions are threatened, is a shocking thing to witness, and it usually does surprise those around him when it rises to the surface. The level of patience this boy possesses is extreme, but it will snap eventually. Most of the time, Yamamoto will keep whatever his true feelings are bottled up tight, even feelings of physical exhaustion or pain, so as to not worry his friends. When he becomes frustrated with himself, he keeps it in also. When he deems it to be necessary, he will take charge and point out to someone that they are behaving in a poor manner. After all, even Yamamoto can only take so much of friends hurting themselves or others with poor behavior or bad decisions before he has to take matters into his own hands.

When it comes down to it, he is actually quite good at being blunt with painful honesty, though he would much rather avoid such situations entirely. This is not to say that he is not guilty of such behavior himself - he is. Yamamoto works well with a team, and tends to step up only in face of a threat or if no one else is doing so. That said, he does have a problem with trying to stay self-sufficient. This straight-forward and simplistic boy has a very strong will, an impressive sense of perseverance, and can be almost stupidly stubborn, diving into situations without applying much thought if someone is in danger. Yamamoto learns quickly and, thankfully, also adapts quickly, but it is still his natural luck that sometimes pulls him from deadly situations he has gotten into. Generally, he does keep a level head though, and his tranquil perseverance and skills allow him to tackle most any challenge presented to his mafia family. Over all, his patient and calm nature helps to be a soothing balm over any disruptions for the Vongola Famiglia, and his outwardly goofy attitude allows him to offer a smile and a laugh as he meets whatever each new day brings.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game: The thing about Yamamoto’s personality is that it tends to stay consistent regardless of what is thrown at him. His ranges from happy to serious and everything in between, as seen in the KHR series, did not change during his time at Marina Asylum. At most, he will feel more fiercely protective of his closest friends and will be determined to stop anything bad from happening to them since someone very important to him was brutalized and murdered in Marina Asylum.

Character Plans: Baseball! Meeting everyone! Getting them to play baseball! :D Also, protecting friends from the darkness (and hopefully not dying in the process), ahaha~ It is very likely that he will join a baseball team and help them win at games with his awesome baseball skills. Yamamoto is a very friendly, easy-going character so he will not have any problem socializing around the island. He will look out for anyone, even if they do not act friendly toward him, which may lead to him being involved in an act against an island faction (or both) at some point.

Appearance: He is Japanese and he looks it. The teenager is a relatively average height (5’8”) with an Asian tan on his skin, expressive golden-brown eyes, and midnight hair that sticks up as if he rolled out of bed and didn’t brush it. Physically, he is very fit because of his love of sports. He has the strength of an impressive athlete and the stamina to match.
Yamamoto is almost always smiling. If he isn't, someone is probably either in trouble or in for trouble.
